R.E. Holding was born in 1979 in Iowa and lives in Missouri with her husband and four cats.  She studied educational science and pharmacology and works as a scientific project manager. While not typing away at the keyboard, she is working full-time, reading, watching movies, cooking, or making soap. Her favorite genres are horror, sci-fi, and fantasy—and in 2023, she founded Cliff Cave Books, LLC, dedicated to creating stories in those genres.
